2 New Hunts! (4/29/13)

I've started two new hunts & I'd thought I'd give a quick post to tell y'all about them.

First, I'm double hunting in the desert in both of my Sapphire versions. I have 2 Damp ability Psyduck's on each team, so I'm ready in case a Baltoy appears. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do a decent number of phases in the desert because I really want every shiny there except for Sandshrew (got one in SS#1, evolved into Sandslash & a couple years later found a random Shiny Sandslash on White2), so I'd be happy if a Cacnea, Baltoy or Trapinch appears. Pretty sure I'll go until I get all 3. Hope it doesn't take too many phases. I just started this hunt today, so I'm not even to 100 encounters yet, but I'll do my best with this!

Next new hunt is in both of my Fire Red's & it is basically two hunts in succession. The first one is inside Icefall Cave in B1F I believe? Not sure, wherever Swinub is 30%, because that's my first hunt there. Going to do multiple phases if necessary to obtain it. The twist to this hunt is that I am training a full party of shinies on each game & I'm counting the encounters by the power points, rather than running away & using a calculator. I find I'm much more interested in the hunts & can accomplish much more at a sitting without getting bored. Once I obtain Swinub, I'll do the same procedure (of training shinies while encountering) surfing inside Icefall Cave until I manage to find a Shiny Seel. Two shinies that I am looking forward to obtain & Seel is the most underrated shiny in my opinion. This has gone very well so far in the first part for Swinub, I've managed to rack up over 1200 encounters already & my shinies are leveling up quite nicely! Also, since I am double hunting this, I changed the button format to LR for Help, meaning that if I recognize a shiny before the sparkles go off, I'll freeze the screen & I'll be able to show the live sparkles in the video. That will be pretty epic, especially in third gen, where I haven't done that yet.

In other news, Panpour still refuses to shine. I'm starting to get close to the 3000 mark, unbelievable. Hope my luck gets better, two shinies in February (same Pokemon), one shiny in March & one in April. Send some good luck wishes my way! Take care everyone! Enjoy the inspiration picture!

Longest Masuda Hunt Ever (4/2/13)

I can't believe this Panpour hasn't appeared....but it hasn't....my Black #2 has gone completely cold. Even with the generous 5th generation Masuda Method odds (1/1366), I have over 2400 eggs for this Panpour. I have stocked Boxes 83 - 85 & I'm working on hatching those now. But I'm on vacation now in Texas & then going to Arizona, to sightsee & do two campus tours (Texas State & Arizona State), so I won't be hunting much during that time. Hopefully it appears soon, or that something does. I only have one shiny since the 24th of February.
